Established in 2008, the Sharjah Aquarium opened up the fascinating realm of the deep sea for the public. Located in Al Khan, This aquarium in Sharjah is the perfect place to witness the local sea life that dwells in the historic coasts of the culturally rich emirate. It is one of the top destinations to visit in Sharjah. But that’s not all – the aquarium is a lot more than just a place to witness sea life.

Stalls for crafts, perfumes & woven garments on narrow lanes, plus a landmark central coffee shop. Souk Al-Arsah Market is considered one of the oldest popular markets in the United Arab Emirates, and it was (more than half a century ago) a meeting point for Bedouin merchants and their camel cargoes. The market, which currently contains all oriental handicrafts, has been restored. Here you can wander along the air-conditioned alleys. The market has large wooden doors, coral stone walls and lanterns hanging on them.

Ich war beeindruckt von den aufwendigen Designs des Heimatmuseums und der König-Faisal-Moschee. Unser Führer, Rasha, war gut informiert und hat das Erlebnis sehr bereichert. Außerdem war die Einkaufszeit in den Souks eine tolle Sache. Außergewöhnliches Mittagessen!

Sharjah felt like an undiscovered gem. The juxtaposition of the modern city with ancient traditions at places like Souk Al Arsah was fascinating. We explored without a guide, and the experience was smooth. The meal was a delightful representation of local cuisine.
